Visual Analysis of How the Character of the Hero in the Painting of Tahmasabi’s Shahnameh
ادبیات را می‌توان مهم‌ترین منبع الهام نگارگران ایرانی دانست. شاهنامه نیز نزد ایرانیان جایگاهی والا دارد که آثار نگارگری بی‌شماری که با مضمون داستان‌های شاهنامه خلق شده‌اند، خود گواه این توجه هستند و از همین‌رو، تأثیر ادبیات بر هنر به‌خصوص نگارگری قابل انکار نیست. از طرفی، حاکمان ایرانی در دوره‌های مختلف نسبت به تهیه نسخه‌های مصور از شاهنامه تمایل داشتند و در مسیر تهیه این اثر حامی هنرمندان بودند. شاهنامۀ طهماسبی به‌سفارش و با حمایت شاه اسماعیل پدید آمد و به‌دلیل کثرت تعداد نقاشی‌ها، نسبت به‌سایر نسخه‌ها برتری پیدا کرد. شخصیت‌های قهرمان در شاهنامه به‌سبب خلق نیکو و عموماً زور بازویشان شناخته می‌شوند. اما این شخصیت‌ها تنها در ادبیات خلق شده و در نهایت، به آثار نگارگری راه می‌یابند و شناخت از آن‌ها بسیار سطحی است. از این‌رو، در این پژوهش، مسئلۀ اصلی، تحلیل بصری چگونگی شخصیت‌سازی قهرمان در نگارگری شاهنامه طهماسبی است. این پژوهش با تمرکز بر آثار شاهنامۀ طهماسبی به‌مطالعۀ خصوصیت‌های بصری شخصیت‌های قهرمان خواهد پرداخت تا به الگویی برای طراحی یک شخصیت با ویژگی‌های ایرانی دست یابد و مورد پژوهشی نیز چهار نگاره از شاهنامه طهماسبی است. پژوهش حاضر با رویکرد واقع‌گرایانه و به‌شیوۀ کیفی به تجزیه و تحلیل داده‌ها پرداخته است و برای گردآوری داده‌ها از روش کتابخانه‌ای و ابزار فیش‌برداری استفاده شده است. پژوهش از لحاظ ماهیت نیز کاربردی به‌شمار می‌آید. نتایج این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که در آثار شاهنامۀ طهماسبی، شخصیت قهرمان در نهایت سادگی و بدون پیچیدگی خاصی به‌نمایش درمی‌آید. از سایرین متمایز نبوده و حتی بزرگ‌تر یا برجسته‌تر از دیگر افراد نیستند. آرامش چهره، رعایت تناسب اندام‌ها، استواری و ایستایی بدن، چشم‌های ریز و صورت کوچک برخی از ویژگی‌های ظاهری ایشان است. این ویژگی‌های ظاهری تجسم عینی ویژگی‌هایی هستند که فردوسی در متن اصلی به شخصیت‌های خود بخشیده است که نشان از وفاداری نگارگران به متن اصلی دارد.
Literature can be considered the most important source of inspiration for Iranian painters. The Shahnameh also has a high place among Iranians, and the countless painting works created with the theme of the Shahnameh stories are proof of this attention. And therefore, the influence of literature on art, especially painting, cannot be denied. On the other hand, Iranian rulers in different periods tended to prepare illustrated versions of the Shahnameh and supported artists in designing this work. Tahmasabi’s Shahnameh was created at the request and with the support of Shah Ismail, and due to a large number of paintings, it gained superiority over other versions. Heroic characters in the Shahnameh are known for their excellent nature and strength of arms. But these characters are only created in literature, and finally, they make their way to paintings, and knowledge about them is very superficial. Therefore, in this research, the main issue is the visual analysis of how the hero’s character is portrayed in the painting of Tahmasbi’s Shahnameh. Focusing on the works of Tahmasbi’s Shahnameh, this research will study the visual characteristics of the heroic characters to achieve a model for designing a character with Iranian features. The research subject is four images from Tahmasbi’s Shahnameh. The current research has analyzed the data with a realistic and qualitative approach, and the library method and the phishing tool have been used to collect the data. The study is also applied in nature. The results of this research show that in the works of Tahmasabi’s Shahnameh, the hero’s character is shown in the utmost simplicity and without any particular complexity. They are not different from others and are not even more significant or prominent than others. The calmness of the face, compliance with the fitness of the limbs, firmness, stability of the body, small eyes, and small face are some of their appearance characteristics. These external characteristics are the objective embodiment of the traits Ferdowsi gave to his characters in the original text, which shows the loyalty of the painters to the original text.
